What About YOU? Quiet or Loud?

Every Monday I ask a question, to get to know YOU better.

Ready for today’s?

Are you quiet or loud?

I bet you’ve already guessed which I am. Although I’m learning to listen as I age—I discovered that I already know everything I know—my natural bent is to laugh loud, talk fast so I can fit more in, and sing ‘til the goblet breaks. I love my nutty personality, unless I’m interrupting someone I need to listen to. Then I must back up and ask the Lord to help me can it once again.

Your turn…

  1. What a question! The other day, hubby and I were driving over to hang out with friends and play this awesome game called Mafia (have you heard of it?) and hubby says, "You turn into a different person when you play mafia. You get all loud and controlling." I had to laugh out loud, because it is SO true! I'm way too competitive when it comes to that game.

In the real world, I lean more toward loud (I'm definitely not shy), though I do have moment of quiet.

  2. Sigh. Hubby and I are working through "How to Fireproof Your Marriage" devo and were asked to list irritating things about each other.

ONE of mine? Um, talking too loud.

No, I am NOT gonna share the others!!! Well, maybe for chocolate. LOL

  3. I'm in the middle. Not too loud and not too quiet! At least that's my perception! My friends might think I talk too much! :-)

  4. This one is a trick question for me since I'm exactly in the middle of introvert and extrovert. When I'm really excited I can whoop it up and be loud, but there is something about staring out over a lake for me that replenishes my insides.

  5. Oh we have a lot in common!

I'm confessing to be an "out there" kinda gal! I step right into whatever is going on, have a lot to say, love to laugh at myself and enjoy people. I'm learning to shut my mouth more and open my ears more!

  8. Oh, I'm definitely loud. My husband says I even THINK loudly. Now, how the heck do I do that? Glad to know I'm in good company. :)

  11. Definitely quiet, especially around people I don't know. And while I used to think this was an issue, I've learned to embrace it. I like to think I'm a good listener/observer. :)

  12. Hi Jen -

With my friends and family, I'm a chatterbox. With people I've just met, I'm more reserved.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)

  14. I'm an introvert. I go on sprees of chattering (but quietly) if I'm with a good friend, but more often I won't say much especially if I don't know people very well. I have to work at being sociable at gatherings.

  15. I love to laugh and talk, but I'm generally not that loud about it. Once in awhile, though...when the party persona surfaces...

  16. Oh, quiet. Last time I took that personality test, i scored off the charts on introversion. That's why I write! But, I love to speak! I have no problem whatsoever speaking in front of crowds and I love it. I just don't like speaking with a few people. And, I like to act, which many introverts do.

  17. I hate to admit it, but I am loud! You already knew it...you just wanted to make me admit it.

I am one of those unique individuals that can be loud,if need be, or I can be quiet.
When I am trying to make a point clear to my hubby, I tend to want to get his attention. So, I am loud.
Other times, I chose to be quiet. Get me in front of a group and the sound man has to turn up the volume.
