Your Input Needed for my Book

You've helped me before--will you do it again? I need your input to choose the best of the following three blurbs for the back cover of my book, Mirth and Worth in the Real Lane, to be released in April by Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas.

Please choose the blurb you heart best, and leave a comment telling me so. If you like a combination of two or all of them, I want to know how you'd blend them to make a sparkling, attention-grabbing blurb to hook 10,000 readers.

1.

Can preachers have sex on Sundays? What do drive-by diaper stores and God have in common? How can a bowl of noodles lead to greater contentment? Find the answer to these and over 70 other mysteries as you laugh and grow your way through Mirth and Worth in the Real Lane.

In her casual, witty style, award-winning author and humorist Jeanette Levellie weaves soul-tickling stories with affirming Scriptural truths. Ride along with her through misadventures and miracles, and find your spirit opening wide to the Lord’s bottomless heart.

You can laugh at your foibles, love yourself more, and live in God’s embrace…in spite of the pain. Welcome to Mirth and Worth in the Real Lane!

2.

In Mirth and Worth in the Real Lane, you will:

• Learn to laugh when you find cow patties in your field instead of buttercups;

• Discover the childlike joy of climbing into God’s lap and spilling your soul to Him;

• Grow in your acceptance of yourself and others

• Open your heart to believe in God’s oceanic love for you.

Over 70 entertaining, spirit-nourishing stories of God’s favor and grace will encourage you as you fight life’s battles in the real lane. But don’t be surprised if Jeanette Levellie’s gentle humor and godly insights help you laugh in spite of the pain.

3.

With depression debilitating the globe and stress levels at an all-time high, everyone needs more laughter and simple answers to the whys of life’s disasters.

In her light-hearted, uplifting style, award-winning author and humorist Jeanette Levellie will take you on a journey to discover joy in spite of the pain, and a fresh understanding of God’s enormous heart. You’ll welcome a vacation from your stresses, laughing at the misadventures of this self-appointed “ditzy redhead.”

Laugh more often, like yourself better, and believe God’s love for you as you discover Mirth and Worth in the Real Lane.

Thanks in advance! I appreciate you guys more than a hyperactive frog appreciates a puddle to splash in!

Blurb #1, for sure. It immediately reels you in with the preacher question, and the remaining questions in paragraph one make me want to read the rest of your answers. I also like that blurb 1 shines positivity in each of its paragraphs.

My two cents. :-)

I like a mix of #1 and #3... like this:
"Can preachers have sex on Sundays? What do drive-by diaper stores and God have in common? How can a bowl of noodles lead to greater contentment?

Just my opinion! : )

I'm for #1 also. However, I love the "Learn to laugh when you find cow patties in your field instead of buttercups!" Oh, that is so my life! lol

LOVE IT!

Blessings~

#1 Hands down! #2 and 3 are way too subdued for your personality. #1 hooks you in with the funny and also gives you the spiritual insight behind all the wackiness. Love it!!!

Guess Im in the minority when I choose #2. When Im looking at covers to find a book to read, I like a concise quick glance at what's inside. A list does it for me every time. Just me. But number one is a grabber for sure. It all depends on what you want to accomplish, peaking curiosity or informing. Guess I like to cut to the chase so to speak.
Love ya

Definitely #1! It would make me buy the book. If I read the other two blurbs, I'd probably pass it up.

For me #1 is the hands-down winner. Grabbed me and kept me all the way through. I also think it reflects your writing voice. And I love the "ride along" which mirrors the "real lane."

I liked the others but wasn't as captivated. (#3 started with "depression" and it was hard to move up to "light-hearted" after that. And being a Jersey girl, I personally didn't relate to the "cow patties." lol)

So looking forward to reading it!! Love you lots!!!

ps - is "YOU'll welcome a vacation from THEIR stresses" a typo?

I like something about them all. No help here.... sorry! :O)

I like them all, actually, but maybe one and two the best. It's late and I am tired though, so am making a note to stop by again and read them more thoroughly tomorrow! (Monday) :)

#1! But wow are you great at writing blurbs--it was hard to choose as they all come at it from a different angle.

I'm for #1 as well.

I liked #1 & #3 for different reasons. #1 got my attention right off the bat with the shock value and made me laugh. :) But I felt like #3 gave me a better glimpse of what the book is about and what the reader can take away after reading it. Sounds great, Jeanette! :)

I'm telling you my answer before I read the others. I truly love number 2. It is short, to the point, and pulls you in to things I need like acceptance, encouragement, and a wonderful dose of humor.

Hope whichever you choose gets the audience excited.

I too think #1 & #3 are good. One drew me in immediately, but I think I lean more toward #3 as it gives me a good picture about your book.

Excited for you!
