Our Wild Thing

Christians in our county did a wild thing over the weekend. It took us 75 hours, a planning team of a dozen, and hundreds of excited volunteers to read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation aloud on the county courthouse square!

The Edgar County Scripture Festival 2015 was an awesome experience. We joined believers in Jesus Christ from many various churches to proclaim the living Word of the living God. There was no preaching, no wrangling, only the pure words of Scripture.
Our oldest reader, my mom Doris Kidgell, who is 88.

Here is our youngest reader, Faith Smith age 6,
with her mommy RayAnn Smith

At 3 P.M. on Sunday afternoon about a hundred of us gathered to read the last two chapters of Revelation together.

There was a spirit of unity and excitement that gave us all a tiny taste of Heaven, where there will be no delineations or separations among believers. We had a common purpose that knit our hearts together. I was so proud to be a part of this wild thing, and thankful that we live in a county that allowed it. I know our leaders and our land will be blessed!
