I developed and maintain websites for two churches, and see it as my contribution to their outreach programs. I've mentored three people in learning how to use their computers and/or software. I don't know that any of these things are making use of God-given talents, but I like to think they're ways of generally 'paying it forward'. I wish I had more knowledge in the realm of writing to be able to offer advice and expertise, but I'm still on the receiving end there. One day I hope I can pay that forward, too. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2081925465275931199.post-60432458439782644652011-03-31T18:05:17.045-05:002011-03-31T18:05:17.045-05:00Jill: I agree with you; Paul said the workman is w...Jill: I agree with you; Paul said the workman is worthy of his hire. That's why I work with teenagers in reding and writing. But, on the other hand, I get very tired of people who assume Christian artists should give everything away because their talent a gift from God. Is talent at plumbing or car repair a gift from God? Should those people be giving everything away? No one argues that. But many, many assume writers and musicians are in another category and don't deserve fair pay for what they do. Paul would not approve. I was very insecure about others reading my musings, but not of late. I pray to the Holy Spirit and if I misplace a comma or misuse the wrong word, it's fine now.
