This is not the title of my new WIP; I'd like to know you better. If you were chosen along with a few others, your family included, to populate a new planet and could only take three books with you to last the rest of your life, which three books would you bring?
These are my choices:
The Bible
Me and My Big Mouth!
At Home in Mitford
Your turn! Please tell us what books you are taking. If I see you there, I will share my books...
P.S. If you've not already entered the drawing for a free Jim Watkins book, you have until Tuesday at 5 p.m. Go here to enter.
Oh dear. I have to choose??? LOL Well, def. the bible. And then two fiction books. I have no clue which ones. It would be an absolutely horrible dilemma to choose. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteThe B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the book for me...
ReplyDeleteGod is Bigger Than The Boogie Man and Other Bedtime Stories by Cindy Kenney
I do not know the title of my third choice, but the author's name is Jeanette Levellie and I believe that the one I am referring to is the third printing of her second book! :)
smooches,
Larie
AH! That's an impossible choice!
ReplyDeleteOkay, the three off the top of my head.
1.Bible
2.A Voice in the Wind
3.An Echo in the Darkness.
But ask me tomorrow, and they will change.
Definitely the Bible. Then I'd have to say Pride and Prejudice, and probably Jane Eyre (sp?) (I've been wanting to re-read that forever.)!_
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this question. But it is a hard one.
ReplyDeleteBible
Peace Like a River
Blue Like Jazz
and I'd need a pencil and paper to write of course! :D
~ Wendy
Not to seem redundant, but the Scriptures, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, and right now I feel like it would be The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
ReplyDeleteI love Jan Karon! Each of the Mitford books line the shelf behind me. They are some of my favorites, as is she. :)
1. Bible
ReplyDelete2. God is Awesome by Tony Evans- it one of the most profound loving books on who God is.
3. Crazy Love by Francis Chan
This is a book about God's relentless love for us.
When I look at my books 90% of them are bible based. I have fiction too, but actually found the choices harder to pick from. I thought of books I would love to see other people reading.
The Bible and probably two other humorous books since I'd be on this planet with my family....:O)
ReplyDeleteGreat question. My answer: the bible, my favourite devotional 'Streams in the Desert, One' and possibly a book by Catherine Marshall, maybe 'The Best of Catherine Marshall'. But wow, it sure is impossible to imagine a life with only three books. The bible however would always speak truth, always challenge, always help, always inspire, it would be all I would need.

Blessings and prayers, andrea
Oh Jeanette, this is hard!
ReplyDelete1. The Bible
2. The Shack
3. Can I bring the Left Behind Series?
This was fun!
Blessings to you...
The Bible, Spurgeons 'Prayer and Spiritual warfare', and... Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. =)
ReplyDeleteWow, these are awesome lists. Thanks for the great ideas for new reads!
ReplyDeleteJen
Well, I'd have to have the Bible. After that, I'm going with "Devil's Bride" by Stephanie Laurens (it's not really about the devil--I love me some romance!). For the third, I'd need a nice long, epic. Probably Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Hey, at my library it's bound as one book!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen -
ReplyDeleteThe Bible tops the list.
The others? Oh dear, that's like asking to pick your favorite children. Can we pick two series?
Neta Jackson's Yada Yada series.
Karen Kingsbury's epic saga of the Baxter family
LOL! I think that works out to around 21 individual books.
Blessings,
Susan
This is so tough since we obviously love books. The Bible, They Found the Secret (very inspirational), and Little Women.
ReplyDeleteOne good thing would be, with only three books, I'd have lots more time to read the Bible, and that's alays good.
