I am sick of me. I’m way too small to fill the world, even my own little corner of it. So I decided to start a new feature on my blog called “What about you?”
Every Monday I’ll ask a question, just to get to know you better. I’ll try to make it fun and lighthearted. After all, it is Monday. But now and then I may throw in a serious one, just to get us all thinking.
Before we talk, however, I would like to congratulate two more winners of Blogiversary Prizes, Parsley from Seasons of My Mind and Wendy Love from Dipsy Doodling around Depression.
Please email me at jeanettelevellie(at)gmail(dot)com to give me your addy and pick your prize!!! BTW, every comment on every post this month is entered to win a prize.
And now, for the first What About YOU question: What is your favorite room in your house and why?
Mine is my living room. It’s where I pray and read the Word, charging my batteries for the day. On the wall facing the love seat where I sit hangs my Thomas Kinkade painting, Amber Afternoon (see above) that my DH bought me one year he was working three jobs. This room is cozy and homey and full of sweetness from God’s generous hand.
Your turn…
I think my favorite room is my bedroom. That's where I do the bulk of my reading and praying, plus it's the warmest (temperature-wise) and where I go to have a little quiet.
ReplyDelete(Plus, I didn't decorate it too shabby either!) LOL
Kitchen. I feel creative here as far as cooking and writing. I really love to cook, so when I am doing so, my mind becomes more focused and for some reason I am able to "write" in my head more clearly.
ReplyDeletesmooches,

Hhhhm, I would have to say I have TWO favorite rooms, for totally different reasons. I love my bedroom because it is cozy, with a nice chair and ottoman in the corner. It is where I escape in books and pound out my own adventures onto my laptop. The other room I love is the living room, because it is an extension of the kitchen. It is where life happens in our home and where I connect with my family. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite room is my family room. It's the heart and soul of my family's life. We congregate there for most things--snuggling to read books, lounging and eating popcorn during movies, playing games on the floor, laughing together, crying together. It already holds so many memories!(Not to mention new comfy couches!)
ReplyDeleteMine is our purple dining room. NO, purple is NOT my favorite color but this room makes me feel happy.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had used more color in our house when we painted. The daring purple is really special and uplifting.
My study. My books peer at me from their dusty shelves. Keepsakes and special pictures fight for space on a crowded shelf. A Scott Mutter poster, Angel Ambrose painting, and a medley of wall hangings crowd out the buttery yellow walls. Papers and books and notes and coffee cups and pens and more mementos crowd a room barely big enough for one piece of furniture, much less a computer table, a chair, ottoman, two bookshelves, a rollaway desk, and four plant stands.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention my fern and cacti and violet, which cleanse my air as I slave over my stories?
Oh, I love it in here!!!!
My favorite room in the house is the kitchen, which is surprising because I hate to cook! But I love that it's the gathering place for the family.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I talk about school while I dice vegetables. My husband strolls in after a long day and lingers there to check the mail and offer kisses to all his favorite ladies. And my three year old drags all her pretend kitchen play in to join me in making dinner, she even offers me a pretend cup of coffee.
I'm not sick of you!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the bathroom. Small bathrooms make me feel in a cave and cozy. It has water, literature to read and duh, the "essentials". Basically one could hole up in there for quite a while and be happy. :O)
First, I love you Jen and I can't get enough of you. I always smile when I read your blog. Second, my favorite room is my bedroom. Years ago my husband made the mistake of buying an ultra comfy mattress. It has been our downfall ever since.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite room is what I call my little room. This is where I pray, read my Bible, go over important notes I have collected from God's word and other places, and do my blogging. It is also special because my collection of classic books resides here and I love to look at it. It's also a very cute, old-fasioned room.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite room used to be my bedroom, but now I have an OFFICE!
ReplyDeleteI love it because it's bright yellow and it has a desk and table for me to use. It also has a spot for my guitar and a papisan chair for me to sit in and read.
Of course, I haven't been able to use it to it's fullness yet, but I look forward to when I can :)
Does my deck count? I love being outside, especially on the swing in my backyard. :0)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about you. You are a dear. My fav room is the den. Big comfy "old" sectional where I can read, write, watch TV, snooze....surounded by pictures of my family.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen -
ReplyDeleteYou may be sick of you, but I'm not! You've become a dear friend.
My favorite room in terms of comfort is my bedroom. I have the canopy bed I dreamed of as a little girl.
In terms of fun, my office takes the award. It's where I write and hang out with all my blogging buddies. :)
Blessings,
Susan
Jeanette:
ReplyDeleteI spend a lot of time in my living room. On the south wall above the television cabinet is a Salman (SP?) picture of Christ I won at a business open house. I pray in the living room. I read there. I start my writing projects there.
Thanks for asking! My favourite room is my dining room. I sit with my back to the wall so I can enjoy the view in the big dining room window to my right, through my open kitchen in front of me, and into my living room to my left which includes another big window. Despite all of the windows there is total privacy as we live in the country. This is where I sit when I do my morning devotions. When I thank God for my many blessings, my house is always on the list. I am thankful for a spacious, bright, cheery house. This is the spot that I can see the most house from and therefore feel the most thankful.
ReplyDeleteNever sick of hearing about you:) I love your painting-- I used to have pictures of houses all over my house!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite room in my family room--it is cozy and I can sit in my double person chair and look out into my backyard and watch the squirrels.
