Every Monday I ask a question, to get to know YOU better.
Okay, ready for today’s? Do you have a favorite piece of furniture?
The loveseat in my living room—this isn't it, I just thought this was cool—is where I curl up before the sun rises to read God’s word, peruse devotional books, and pray. After supper, you can find me in the same corner of the same loveseat eating ice cream with my DH, or reading a novel. When my silky black cat, Puddin’ settles into my lap and nudges me to pet her, my joy is complete.
What about YOU?
I like my couches! :-) I esp. like to sleep on them.
ReplyDeleteWe have a chair my husband bought fresh out of college. I like to call it the "throne" b/c it has large round wooden armrests. But it is so cushiony to relax on. The colors look like someone had one too many pickles and threw up on it, but we've covered it and it's probably my favorite spot to sit.

I probably could never get rid of my huge desk. We bought it when we first married in an old junk store and refinshed it in a one-bedroom apt! It has a place to pull up for a typewriter and a cook board that pulls out. I've dragged it from place to place for over thirty years and it is hard to find good solid wood like this anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage telephone chair that I bought at a garage sale when I was 13-ish for $5. Big investment for me at the time. I still have it and love it. :O)
ReplyDeleteWould you believe it? My computer chair! :)
ReplyDeleteI love my couch. It is big and comfortable. Good for naps and TV viewing. I sometimes pull my laptop over to it when I want to read more than write. However my all time favorite I don't own yet. A pretty easy chair with hidden massage inside. I still want one. :)
ReplyDeleteMy big comfy bed....I curl up with my Bible, journal and four dogs to study GODS word...it is our routine and we love it.

I have a big chair I like to curl up in... I can see the kitchen & den from that spot!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my comfy blue chair that swivels. My grandmother gave it to me when I was a teenager. It's gone from my parents house to my house and everyone who sits on it loves it. Even the cat will fight you for the right to sit on it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Picking a single favourite is hard! I like the loveseat in our family room; I won it (or the money I used to buy it) in a telephone company draw! I chose to take the money instead of a free trip to Las Vegas, so I nicknamed the couch "Vegas". My laptop and I spend a lot of time on it.
ReplyDeleteBut my very favourite is probably the little writing desk that belonged to my mother-in-law. I use it as a bedside table and among other things in its narrow drawer there is a notepad and a battery-lit ballpoint pen for recording night time eureka's.

My sectional couch, where I hunker down and watch TV or read. An end table nearby for my drink/food....

ReplyDeleteMy couch. I read books, watch television, have my devotions, and take naps there.
My loveseat because it reclines.

Hmm... I own 2 pieces of furniture, maybe. But I love my chair! And my bookcase. Okay, so maybe I have 5 pieces of furniture. :0)
ReplyDeleteThe desk my husband made for me. It reminds me that, even though my work cuts down on "us" time, he wants me to be happy!
ReplyDeleteWe bought reclining sofas last summer and I absolutely adore them! I don't get to sit in them until after the kids are in bed (usually!). But it's a nice place to relax after a long day!
ReplyDeletemy bed. It's a heated waterbed, and with the flannels sheets in winter . . . mmmmmm. Why don't we hibernate again?
ReplyDeleteHi Jen -
ReplyDeleteMy dark wood, canopy bed with a Sleep Number mattress is my favorite piece of furniture. Not only is it comfortable, but I turn into a fairy tale princess when I climb into it. :)
Blessings,
Susan
I guess I would have to say my couch, too. It is one of the few new pieces we got when we moved. I take my breakfasts and eat them here and also love to read and eat and drink pop or tea. I usually do my devotionals on my bed.
ReplyDeleteI have a comfy chair that has a matching ottoman. I put them together so that it is like a lounger....sigh...I love it! My laptop and I live there together.
