Do you love cutesy little tidbits about other bloggers, or do you prefer to know they have messy lives, just like you?
I recently received this sweet blog award from Marja of Fresh Insights on Ancient Truths, and decided to bend the rules a bit. I'm supposed to say 7 things about myself. But it never said they had to be gooey, pink and purple cupcake things. So, I'm going to share 7 things that may shock, anger, or repulse you about me. But in the end, I'll know who my true friends are if you say, that's okay--I love you anyway! Here goes...
1. I am so crazy about my four cats, I let them jump on the kitchen counters, sleep in our bed with us, and talk baby talk to them.
2. I have no patience for demanding, rude, ornery people. I want to sock them, send them to three weeks of time out, or take away thier binkies.
3. I hate housework. I keep up with laundry, dishes, and clean sheets on the bed, but I hire someone to come in and clean.
4. I'm addicted to sweets and caffeinne.
5. I get my feelings hurt way too easily.
6. I keep my desk at work tidy, but my office at home is a zoo.
7. I'd rather bake than cook. It's great therapy, and costs less than a psychiatrist. Plus, it fits in nicely with #4.
I would like to pass along this award to 5 other bloggers who've enccouraged me in my journey:
Susan of Eternity Cafe
Nancy of Boomers, Scribblers, and Saints
Laura of Goose Hill Farm
Diane of Diane Estrella
Rhonda of The Natives are Getting Restless.
If you'd like to play by the rules, after you add this award to your blog, you should:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. Tell us 7 things about yourself
3. Pass it on to 5 others whose blogs you heart, and leave a comment on their blog to inform them.
Do you like to know only good things about others, or does sharing a little mess now and then help you relate to your friends?
Lol, You still manage to charm, Jeanette, even when you're revealing the ugly truth about yourself. And I am 100% with you on #4. :)
ReplyDeleteNo shock, anger or repulsion. A little bit of gloating cause I could have guessed most of what you said about yourself, and I love you anyway. lol
ReplyDeleteLooks like we have a lot in common...2, 4, 5...:D
ReplyDeleteLove learning about you.
~ Wendy
Jen!! Thank you so much! I'm flattered beyond telling.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't love you half as much as I do if you didn't share the uglies right along with the goodies. If you were perfect, well, we couldn't be friends, you and I, 'cause I'm a mess! LOL.
I love it. And I love it when we get together in the summer!
Smooches, friend,
Rhonda
Interesting stuff Jeanette.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by your #6. Most folks are either consistently messy or neat freaks.
Jeanette, Thanks for the award!! Will get back to you with my 7 things - and I'll keep them honest as you did ;D
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on #3! Sadly #5 too.
Love you lots,
Susan
I'm with you on 2, 3 and 4...yeah, and sometimes 5.
ReplyDeleteFun post.
Thank you so much for the award!
ReplyDeleteI am all for throwing out the mess for others to see. I think it makes us all feel more connected knowing we've all got our downfalls. :O)
You're too funny. None of that surprised me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the award, Jeanette! It is amazing that just this morning, I told my pastor how I didn't want to be one of those people who hides behind a mask and how I felt God wants me to be more transparent. I guess I should be really careful about what I say! lol
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know when I have mine posted! :> )
Blessings~
Laura
Aww, Jen, we still love you!
ReplyDeleteI don't have cats, but I could probably use your list for myself. :)
Hugs,
Susan
Shock, anger or repulsion? I think this all makes you more endearing!
ReplyDeleteI had a cat when I lived alone. I used to refer to him as my roommate and he would sleep in my bed every night. :-)
I'm with you on a lot of your points. All sounds normal to me!
Have a lovely week.
Thank you so much for this award, Jeanette. I will post my 7 things today. I only have three people to pass it along to, since I have a rather small list.
ReplyDeleteI get my feelings hurt very easily and often play the "Is she mad at me?" game.
Jen - I am sorry, but I will have to do the award another time. I had a glitch on getting the picture and I can't pass it along without it. If I can get it, then I want to try this award again. Thanks so much for thinking of me.
ReplyDeleteJeanette:
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything shocking, bad or repulsive about this list. It's just YOU.
