I love this. It's one of my prayers each morning - that no matter what happens, I would trust Him. Because moments are moments. Situations are meants to pass. But God is El Olam, everlasting! I'd rather trust in Him, than whatever's passing through at the moment, ya know?
Ha! This is funny b/c I have a very specific example of this in my life right now that I haven't shared. Need to keep quiet for now, but yes. I hear Him say this about every 20 minutes.
This post literally gave me goose bumps! Just last night my husband and I were talking about trusting God and how He was working in our life. There are some pretty huge changes coming in our future and it's hard not to get a little scared sometimes.
I think part of if is that even though I know He only wants my good, the word good has many meanings. What Paul and Peter experienced was good in the sense that they fulfilled their destinys, but they paid the price. Can I trust Him knowing that He may have ADVENTURE for me? I have to. That's what makes Him happy and what he asks of me.
This is so applicable to my life right now. I feel like God's dared me to trust him on two big issues--like a nudge to step out in faith and trust that He has my best interest in mind. I'm so glad He's faithful because trusting is not as easy as it sounds a lot of the time.
I have a hard time with trust, I didn't realize until I read your post that sometimes (ok way to often) I don't even trust in the Lord's message to me.
oh that we would learn to truly trust Him in ALL things! I think this is the crisis of all believers. Really trusting that He LOVES US! Once we get that, we can do mighty things for Him and His Kingdom!
This is an issue I deal with every day. When there's no job in sight and the bills keep coming in, I trust. When it seems I'm stuck, I remember how He's resolved situations in the past.
Thanks for the good word today. It's a reminder to lean on Him.
It is difficult enough to trust what we can see, much less what we can't see. Walking by faith and not by sight is not compatible with our human nature. It is something we have to choose and keep burning. Very good post. Gives me food for thought. God bless, Dr. Bobbi
---What does "Dare to trust Me mean to me?" In the lat month it has meant stepping out of my Christian comfort zone, and knowing that this will come with trials, and tribulations.
It was time for me to stop Thinking about stepping-out in faith, and actually "Just Do It. :o) Michele Katherine
Excellent question and wish I had the answer. I can't tell you how many times I've prayed, handed my problems over and then the first thing the next morning, grab them back. What happened to the trust I had the night before?
Jen: It tells me that I don't trust Him as completely as I should. It means I shouldn't worry about things I can't contol. God wants us to realize He means business about our relationship.
I think it's hard because we want to handle things on our own, but it's so freeing to let go and leave it in His hands - I pray often for the faith to do just that.
I think he dares us 'cause he made us to respond to challenges, plus humans always like to be right and I think he likes to prove us wrong. *grin*
ReplyDeleteIt is just so easy for me to build walls that I think provide safety and then miss so many opportunities.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I have to be willing to listen to hear the dare as well.

Because we're stubborn a dare involved pricks our pride, sadly.... :O(

Because it goes against our nature to have faith in what our eyes can't see. I like that question you heard.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a hard one for me. I have trust issues no wait, more like control issues. :)

We're stubborn, and often think we can do it our own way. Good food for thought!

ReplyDeleteHe dares me, to put feet to my faith. It's like asking a toddler to take the first steps to walk.

That would mean letting go of my insecurities...

I try to remember to pray this daily--to trust all is for God's vision of our lives. I am learning to hear Him. Coming here is helpful!
