Last year I had to return for an extra sonogram after a suspicious little dot was found on one side. I knew it could be cancer, but I was expecting nothing. I prayed, asked others to pray, spoke the Word over my body, and God came through--it was fibrous tissue. Thank you, Jesus!
I applaud doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals, but the wise ones will tell you they are only the instruments--God is the real healer. He designed our bodies and He knows how to fix them. So, if medical science has done all they can for you, but you are still broken, go to Jesus and ask for His touch of love and grace to fill your body and mend you. He is mercy personified.
And if you are healthy, thank God, then go out and help someone who isn't. Pray for them, make them a meal, send them a card or book, sing them a song of love. Be Jesus' heart and hands to their hurts.
Loved this post and needed the reminder in the last paragraph!

Praise the Lord!
ReplyDeleteMy father has battled cancer for the last five years. It started in the colon then traveled to the breast, now it's planted itself on his spine. And he still won't stop proclaiming God's goodness!

Beautiful for bringing attention to this.

Having the healthy (including myself) do more for others is wise advice.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day Jeanette.
Great timing! My Dad goes in for prostrate cancer surgery in 2 weeks. I"m a nervous little daddy's girl :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful reminder. Thanks for posting about this important topic, Jeanette.
ReplyDeleteWhat a kind and helpful post today.
ReplyDeleteI love the part where you said, if you can't be fixed by medicine, go to Jesus. How true, how true. I know He is able. He has healed me.
PTL that your results were good. My mom is a breast cancer survivor for 13 years, but now it has spread. She loves the Lord and handles it well.
ReplyDeleteI am very thankful that Jesus healed them all. Thanks for this reminder, Jen.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful post, Jeanette. Having walked some tough medical roads myself and also with my sister, I've learned how lonely a person can feel. Thanks for the reminder that we're never alone.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got good news. Truly.
ReplyDeleteAnd you've been His heart and hands to many. Don't you forget it, either.
Waving and grinning,
R.
My childhood bestfriend is going through her first round of chemotherapy for breast cancer. She lives a thousand km away but prayers have no limitations. Praise be to Him who promises to heal our hurts.
ReplyDeleteA good friend is a breast cancer survivor, and now runs in the annual Run for a Cure marathon. No one in my family has had breast cancer, but other kinds have invaded. My mother died of an aggressive form that took her within a month of being diagnosed. So when I was diagnosed with uterine cancer six years ago, at the same age as my mother had been when she died, I thought my days were over. To say it unsettled me was an understatement, but God is always bigger than anything we face. His love is sustaining, and I'm still here, which proves he's also merciful.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your news was good. :)
