I am a teacher, so we don't listen to much other than instrumentals sometimes or Grammar Rock type songs at work. The rest of the time, I listen mainly to Christian music, like Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin, etc.
At work I listen to Pandora, normally southern gospel or praise and worship. I love to hum or sing along (very quietly at work). At home my husband chooses oldies on the music channel and we sing along with those songs. Occasionally we will dance along if we're feeling goofy.
Work? Nothing. Can't work with any noise. I know, it makes it difficult around the house! Play and relax both I have an ipod loaded with show tunes and my favorite Christian artists. I tok all my girls to see Switchfoot this May and absolutely loved it! And yes, I sing and occasionally dance, which amuses the other people at the fitness center, I'm sure.
I sing, jive, hum, the whole works. (And would you drop me from your 'friends list' if you knew I listen to some country and some '80s rock?) I like a whole variety, including southern gospel. Just don't make me listen to bluegrass and we'll get along just fine. :)
I love listening to music at work. 70s hits, gospel and when I write I normally have music playing in the back ground. Right now I am stuck on 3 songs God brought to my attention for the time I am in. 1. Called to Be by Jonathan Nelson 2. God Speaking by Mandisa 3. The Promise by Yanna Crawley
When I cook, when I play, when I fold laundry, and when I relax. :-) I sing and dance--it's embarassing for the kiddo because I'll do it in front of anyone. LOL
When I create, I like to put on praise music. When I drive, I like to listen to most kinds of music. I can't work and play CDs very well, but the kids and I sing silly songs. Yes, I love to sing along. And dancing is so much fun.

ReplyDeleteAha. What grade do you teach, Shelly? I taught History and Government at a Christian jr. high/high school in CA many years ago.
DeleteI teach 6th- 8th grade language arts. In my 29th year, and love it!

ReplyDeleteBarb: I WISH my husband liked to dance! I have to be goofy alone if I want to dance. In Heaven I'm sure he'll be okay with it...

Those songs have really blessed me.

ReplyDeleteI can't listen to music while working either at home or on the job. It breaks my concentration.
ReplyDeleteMusic and singing happen during relaxing times.
