Eileen, Andrea, Jessica, Sherrinda, Larie, Terri and Katie, did you accomplish your weekend goals? As of this writing (Sunday afternoon) I finished one goal so far, but not both. I submitted an article I hadn’t planned on this weekend, so that was a bonus item, and those are always fun. Thanks for sharing your goals with us, ladies. Somehow writing them down helps keep us on track.
Eileen asked that I share the words to a song I wrote and mentioned in a blog recently. If you are currently going through rough seas, I hope it encourages you:
Your mighty peace
Will comfort me
When all around the storms besiege
I will hide
Beneath Your wing
And rest my soul
In Your mighty peace.

Your mighty peace
Will comfort me
When all around the storms besiege
I will hide

And rest my soul
In Your mighty peace.
Though Satan lie
And tempt me sore
Within Your Word I am secure
I will stand
Forevermore
Your mighty peace
Will win each war.

GOD BLESS you!! I believe I did. Not quite the way I thought it would happen, but isn't it amazing how GOD works.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and prayers, andrea
PS: urgent prayer request on my blogs for a fellow blogger. Edie made a prayer button, too.
What a beautiful song! Do you write the music along with the lyrics?
ReplyDeleteI have exceeded my goals this weekend! I edited 3 chapters yesterday! I had hoped for 2, so 3 was great! And I still have this evening!!!! :)
Andrea: Yes, God has loads of surprises up His sleeves, which I imagine are long!!!
ReplyDeleteAm praying for Jim's recovery, Jen
Sherrinda: You are a real sweetie, and I don't say that because you're a P.W. either!
Yes, I write the music too. I have not recorded this one, but if I can get my hus to show me how to download music from one of our records, I may put a song or two on my blog. My husband is the real composer, having written over 1,500 songs to date.
Congrats on exceeding the goal-- yippee for you!
Great song Jen! You and your hubby are so creative. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe really bad thing is I don't know whether I accomplished my goals because I'm not sure what I said I'd do. Hmmm... LOL
Jessica: This is what you said:
ReplyDelete"Let's see, finish a short story and send it to Woman's World. Also, make my one-sheet, finish my revisions and try to think of a greeting card verse. :-) Thanks to you, I've got some good advice, just have to sit down and do it.
Long term goals, have a happy family and kids who both like and respect me when they're sixteen."
How'd you do?
Jen
I did do some edits on my story--gaining! I can see why you had cards published--this song is beautful:)
ReplyDeleteWonderful words of hope, encouragement and saftey. I love it. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with us.
Terri: Way to go! Keep at it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kudos.
Karen: Thanks, and you're welcome!
What a comforting poem. There is something beautiful and peaceful about your whole blog. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteSo, you're a songwriter too?! As I was reading your profile again, I could see so many similarities between us. I especially like what you said about knowing just who God is. I wrote a book about that and it has been a passion for me - to know what God is really like. Thank you for your encouraging comments on my blog posts. I value your input. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Jen. That's beautiful and very encouraging, uplifting, and most of all comforting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't write much on the weekend, but got over 12,000 words in during the week so I'm pleased.
Good job on your writing, Jen!
Nancy: Thank you. I hope it's more than the pink. My prayer is to encourage and bless.
ReplyDeleteJan: Isn't it fun to meet people we connect with? Thanks for commenting.
Eileen: Thank you for your kind words.
Wow, 12,000 words is awesome! Way to go!
Jeanette:
ReplyDeleteMy goals are hard for me to stay with. Yesterday, I finished a newsletter I do, early for me.
My one writing goal for this year was to finish a crime novel and I am sidetracked. But God has given me another story to write, one that includes Him
