I like L'Engles, maybe because I was told my whole life that I act older than my age and it always made me feel too old. I like this idea that maturity enables childlikeness. Heeeheee!
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :-)
I love L'Engles quotation. I'm a 58-year-old junior higer!
ReplyDeleteDo you have L'Engle's book, "Herself"? I love it. Laughter...ah! It does remind me of God's grace.

I like Karl Barth's, because humor is so important. And I love thinking God has a good sense of it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we all need a laugh today!
ReplyDeleteI also like Karl Barth's quote. :)

ReplyDeleteAll of these are good. I like Karl Barth's and L'Engle's.
God gives us a gift of laughter, it makes us feel better about issues and circumstances.
And who can be childlike unless they have matured in the faith?
"Excuses are like weeds. If left unattended, they choke fruit." --Joyce Meyer
ReplyDeleteI need to take heed to this one for sure!
I love the one by Madeling L'Engle. Being childlike is very difficult, but greatly to be desired. So that's why I like it.
ReplyDeleteShaw. I do try to weigh my words and not just splat them out. :O) have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBarth's. Laughter is a huge blessing.
ReplyDeleteProbably laughter! Especially a baby's laughter. Now....the flipside is the crying/screaming...which I've been dealing with for the past TWO hours. Oh Lord Jesus, give me patience.
ReplyDeleteLove them all but Joyce's makes the most sense this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing these.
Hugs and blessings,
Karen :)
Love them all. Especially the quote about being childlike!

They are all good, but the one that struck me today is L'Engle's. To be comfortable with yourself to be uninhibited like children.
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite is Madeline L'Engle's, but Joyce Meyer's is one to take note of, for sure.

The race in writing is not to the swift, but to the original." -- William Zinsser
ReplyDeleteI love this one. Original is harder than being fast for sure:)
Aw. Laughter is the closest thing to the grace of God. I notice since I've started my spiritual journey, I laugh more. And when I do laugh, it comes from my soul. It's loud and raucous (to others). Sometimes I laugh so hard I cry (like when I'm exercising recently). It's a joy to feel it. I feel like I haven't "felt" for so long! God is great.
